LiUNA Training develops the curriculum, certifies the instructors, and supports a network of over 70 affiliated training centres throughout Canada and the United States. Our programs train Construction Craft Workers and Cement Finishers across the many career opportunities open to LiUNA members.
The LiUNA Local 1089 Training Centre is the door to those opportunities — helping apprentices and journey workers improve their skills, advance their careers, and earn a living wage with benefits. Each year, LiUNA is strengthened through Red Seal Apprenticeship Training, Health & Safety Training, and Industry Certification, taught by LiUNA's network of highly skilled and highly qualified instructors.

LiUNA Local 1089 instructors are part of a rigorous, ANSI-certified training and certification program built on world-class instructional standards. Through continuous evaluation and competency-based training, instructors develop the skills needed to meet and exceed those standards.
For employers, this means access to a highly trained, job-ready workforce. For members, it means learning from certified instructors using accredited curriculum.
LiUNA Local 1089 is a Certified Training Delivery Agency (TDA) through the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) for:
- Construction Craft Worker (450A)
- Cement (Concrete) Finisher (244G)
These programs are funded in part by the Government of Ontario, ensuring accessible, high-quality training for our members.
